England Netball’s Small Grant Scheme offers affiliated clubs, leagues and County Associations up to £300 to help you to recruit young volunteers (14-19 year olds) into Netball, and to train and support them.
Community Sport Leaders and Step into Sport Volunteers will have lots of the skills that your club, league or county need, including:
· Good organisational skills
· Planning and leading sessions
· Emergency First Aid
· Officiating, scoring and timekeeping
· Event organisation
A range of options to help you to recruit and develop young volunteers. A Young Netball Organiser Course can help to tailor those generic sport leadership skills into Netball specific skills – giving young volunteers a taster of coaching, officiating, timekeeping and scoring – or organising events! It may be that you already run Young Netball Organiser Courses – so you could opt for some support to run a Beginner Umpire Award or subsidise young volunteers to attend the UKCC Level 1 Coaching Qualification. Maybe some Running Sport resources are what you need to help your young volunteers develop their administration or club development skills.
To apply for the Small Grants Scheme please complete the application form below and send to Rebecca Skinner, England Netball, 9 Paynes Park, Hitchin, Hetfordshire, SG5 1EH.
The dealine for submission is Friday 29th June 2007, all applications will be assessed by a Regional Panel and you will be informed if your application has been successful by Monday 6th August.
