When will the Netball UKCC be introduced?

September 2006 for levels 1, 2 and 3. For levels 4 and 5 plans are to introduce them in January 2007 and January 2008 respectively.

If I have a current coaching award will this still be recognised when UKCC is introduced?

Yes it will be recognised. It is however recommend that as a coach it is good practice to stay up to date and attend relevant continuous professional development opportunities. One of the ways you may do this is to upgrade your coaching qualification. Over the coming months we will be designing lots of CPD type opportunities for our coaches that will be locally accessible and be available from September 2006.

I am considering taking a Netball coaching award – should I do this or wait for Netball UKCC to be available?

This depends on when and where you need and want to coach. It is vital that if you are coaching you are qualified to the appropriate level for both your own safety and for those you are coaching. To discuss contact your Home Country contact

Why will the current awards not be delivered after April 2006? There will be a gap of 5 months until Netball UKCC is launched.

To ensure we offer all our coaches the best opportunity to attend coach education programmes we felt it appropriate to have a definite end date for current awards and start date for Netball UKCC – this will allow all our members and partners to plan accordingly.

There is little point in training coaches using the old material right up to the last minute before launching new qualifications – we want to ensure everyone has access to the right course at the right time.

The 5 month gap will be used to ensure every aspect of our new UKCC coach education qualifications are ready to be launched in September 2006.When will the prices be available for the new Netball UKCC qualifications?

In February, we will be able to tell you this information. Then in April/May we will be able to provide you with more details about organising and booking qualifications.
